The Wind You Never Felt

Led, steel, copper wire, electronics

2021 · Pavillon de la danse — Geneva

The Wind You Never Felt is a permanent electromagnetic and luminous installation that functions as a monumental light fixture within the foyer of the Pavillon de la danse in Geneva.

The work is composed of 1,687 small LED lights, each directly suspended from the pavilion ceiling by a bare copper wire.

Beyond the light it produces, the entire piece creates a subtle movement. The wires sway slowly and randomly, giving the impression that the installation is being stirred by an invisible breeze.

Each element — equipped with a small copper coil — generates an electromagnetic field that attracts or repels its immediate neighbors, producing a resonant oscillation of varying intensity.
