2016 · CERN — Geneva (CH)
Born from a residency at CERN (collide@CERN 2014) in collaboration with musician Vincent Hänni, physicist Robert Kiefer, and cosmologist Diego Blas, Horizons irrésolus is a piece composed of 888 mini synthesizers, each acting both individually and in interaction with the others.
The installation seeks to approach the multiplicity of sound sources in a pointillist manner, without any central or dominant element. A sound source as an individual within a crowd, a point in space, a thread in a net, a glimmer on the ocean’s surface — an autonomous entity with its own parameters, evolving within a greater whole.
In collaboration with Vincent Hänni (musician), Robert Kiefer (physicist – CERN), and Diego Blas (cosmologist – CERN).
The project and research were presented in Building 191 at CERN (Switzerland / France) during the Electron Festival 2016. The work was co-produced by the association POWA
